Come and see one of the most beautiful Dalmatian towns. Imotski is a picturesque town of Mediterranean architecture in heart of Zagora, and its city core is made of ashlar.

Imotski is situated on the hill above fertile Imotski field.

It takes your breath away when you see how nature created endless beauty which makes you come back again to Imotski.

Imotski is most famous for Blue Lake and Red Lake. Your sightseeing begins there. Red Lake is the deepest lake in Europe. An interesting fact about Red Lake is that it is impossible to throw a stone into the lake. The elderly say that it is due to the legend, while scientists believe it is due to the fact that streaming above lake is so strong that stone comes back between the rocks as a magnet. Anyway, try to throw a stone into the lake. It is said that who succeeds, will be followed by everlasting happiness. Who knows, maybe you are the one!

We continue walking to the second Imotski lake, Blue Lake, one of the most beautiful karst lakes in Croatia. In spring, Blue lake is almost 100 m deep and in summer it is favourite bathing place. In late autumn it completely runs dry, so football games are played at the bottom of the lake. Above the lake is fortress Topana which dominates the town. Within the fortress is a church of Gospe od Anđela (Lady of Angels), patroness of the town.There is beautiful view from the top of fortress to Imotski, lakes, Imotski fields, mountain Biokovo and neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nearby, there is one of 10 most interesting football stadiums in the world- Gospin dolac.

Then we come to the centre of the town, walking down the famous Imotski stairs built by Venetians in late 18th century.There, you will have free time for sightseeing.

After that, we go through the old part of the town. We will pass through the only stone-paved street, surrounded by stone houses. We will end our sightseeing with the visit to the church of sv Franje (saint Francis).
